Biannual Vitamin A supplementation

Vitamin A deficiency can cause blindness. It can also increase the risk of serious, sometimes fatal, infections. Symptoms include night blindness, dry skin, and frequent infections.

Treatments may include supplements and diet changes.

The government of Himachal Pradesh has taken initiative to give Vitamin A to all children 1-5 years of age at Anganwari centers and schools on National Deworming Day i.e 1^st May and 1^st November of every year improve the nutrition of children and reduce illnesses.
