Health And Wellness Center

Ayushman Bharat-Health & Wellness Center (AB-HWC) is a flagship scheme of the Government of India launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage. It aims to holistically address the healthcare of the people by adopting a continuum to care approach at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

The state of Himachal Pradesh is fully committed to operationalizing Health & Wellness Centers (HWCs) in all Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs), and Health sub-centers (HSCs) by 2020-22, so as to provide Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) to all the citizens of the state.

The Government of Himachal Pradesh intends to notify all Health sub-centers and Primary Health Centers into HWCs by 2022. To date, 1573 HSCs, 553 PHCs, and 20 UPHCs have been notified as HWCs in the state
