Community-Based Care
Community-based care is a recently developed public health approach. A large population residing in rural areas does not have access to proper care and treatments in the hour of their need, especially pregnant women, and neonatal residing in a distant location from a hospital are always at high risk. The community health system is a big hope here.
The Neonatal mortality Rate in rural areas is more than the urban areas. The government of India has introduced Home-based Newborn care in order to overcome the burden of newborn deaths in the first week of life and to reach the unreached. For further preventive services, additional home visits have been added under Home-based care of the young child in order to reduce child mortality and morbidity and improve the nutritional status, growth, and early childhood development of young children.
